A single WRT Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system was selected by the City of Grand Island, NE to remove high concentrations of uranium in three city wells. When the Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system was installed in 2012, it was the largest uranium treatment facility in the nation. The high uranium in the raw water source is consistently being reduced to levels below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL).
The City of San Angelo, TX selected WRT’s Z-88 Radium Removal treatment system for reducing high levels of radium in their wells. The city’s Phase I treatment plan was fulfilled in 2014 with the installation of the first Z-88 Radium Removal treatment system. This large treatment facility has been reducing the levels of radium below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) since it’s inception.
The Golden State Water Company selected WRT’s Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system to reduce high concentrations of uranium in a single treatment system for three wells located in the Morongo Valley of California. Since installation of the Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system in Morongo del Sur in 2013, the uranium levels are being reduced to levels below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL).
WRT’s Z-88® Radium Removal treatment system was selected to remove high concentrations of radium in two treatment facilities for the City of Bridgeton, NJ. Both treatment facilities are now producing safer drinking water since the installation of the Z-88® Radium Removal treatment systems in 2009 and 2010.
The Village of Oswego, IL selected WRT’s Z-88® Radium Removal treatment system to remove high concentrations of radium in their public drinking water. Eight city wells are currently being treated by Z-88® Radium Removal treatment systems. All eight treatment facilities are now producing safer drinking water since the first installations in 2005.
Bass Lake Water Company selected WRT’s Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system to remove high concentrations of uranium from their raw water source. The Z-92® Uranium Removal treatment system is consistently reducing the uranium levels below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) since the 2007 installation.
The chromium removal pilot study was conducted for the County of San Bernardino, CA at their CSA 70 Zone J - Well 5 treatment facility. Chromium in the CSA 70 Zone J – Well 5 raw water source exceeds the current Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL).

Residents of Sycamore, Ill., will now have safer drinking water, thanks to the new Z-88™ radium removal system provided by Water Remediation Technology, LLC (WRT®). The addition of the Sycamore system marks the 17th installation that WRT is operating in Illinois

WRT has developed an innovative cost-efficient water treatment process and proprietary treatment media that offers many advantages over other technology including: no chemicals added, no liquid waste stream generated and no backwash required, minimal maintenance and operation, no handing of radioactive materials, media or chemicals by utility staff, safe exchange of media, proper handling and disposal of used media, and guaranteed process performance.
WRT has always provided long term service agreements as part of it’s offering which includes the replacement, handling, exchange, transportation and disposal of treatment media. These services are typically provided on a cost-per-gallons treated basis.
WRT believes in safely and properly disposing of radioactive residuals and was the first company involved in the radium removal technology market to offer a cost effective means by which the contaminate collected was not “backwashed” down the sewer. To that end WRT has secured long term disposal agreements to insure the proper disposal of the “TENORM” material generated by the radium removal process. Uranium residuals are transferred to a processor for use in the fuel cycle, ending the long term liability for the customer.
Radiation safety, licensing, compliance, monitoring and training is provided by WRT Radiation Safety Officers. WRT holds Radioactive Materials Licenses in several states including California, Illinois, New Jersey and Wisconsin.
WRT has completed over 100 radionuclide removal pilot studies in 23 states, with additional pilot studies underway. WRT currently has over 100 full scale systems in operation or under construction in 19 states with many more in the development stages.
On-site pilot testing is available, and WRT’s total solution represents simple and effective processes for meeting regulatory compliance.
WRT’s goal is to continue to offer innovative solutions to contaminant removal applications for the municipal water market.
